I don’t cook much. Joey does the cooking and he is damn good too. But we are finding ourselves in a debacle. We are sick of the same stuff that we have over and over again. Here are the reasons we came to be in this debacle:
1.) We are tired after work and just want to relax (some call this laziness…we call it resting….whatever).
2.) We don’t own a cook book (I have one that I borrowed from my dad…but haven’t
opened since I took it)
3.) When we do find a recipe we think we would like, it takes ingredients and spices (the
only ones we own are pepper, salt, garlic salt, and some sort of BBQ seasoning) that we have never heard of and would cost just as much to make the dish as if we were to go out to eat. So we choose the easier option and head out.

4.) We like things that are simple and don’t take too long to make and some recipes take
forever!!
forever!!
We are finding ourselves having this rotation of the same things to eat because they are simple, easy and don’t require us to have many ingredients or require a lot of time. So, it is my goal to try and change this. I always complain to Joey that I want different things to eat and he always says, “Find recipes and I will make them.” So the past few days I have been on the internet (bored as hell at work) and have found lots of great recipes. These recipes require ingredients that we don’t have or have ever had but I don’t care, I want something new to eat- a new change of pace. So I made a goal of making two new dishes a week for dinner and then hopefully our “rotation” of dinners we make will grow. I am also going to make a goal of starting to cook some of these dinners myself or make it a joint effort with Joey (it will be something new for us to do together…ahh bonding). I have been spoiled my whole life with not having to cook. When I was growing up my parents cooked. My first year of college I ate at the dining hall then I lived in a Sorority for two years and we had a cook. Then I met Joey and he has cooked for me ever since. So I am going to make an effort to change that and try to become a good cook!! With the aid of recipes and my talented husband I think I will be successful. I also want to do more baking. I like baking! And NO!, my baking will not consist of making brownies out of a box. I will do it all from scratch, the way it should be!!!!

Hmm... you cooking... should be interesting! Let me know how that works out for you. Meals out of a box are always great alternatives for the lives of busy working married couples!
