Farewell

Dear Joey and Anna,
Welcome to the wonderful world of no credit card debt. We hope you enjoy your new found freedom! Over the last two and half years we have enjoyed our time together and are sad that we won’t get to meet again, but congratulations on getting your balances with us down to the big fat ZERO!! Over the past 6 months, you both have been so determined to knock us out of the park. We will now take great pride in starting to annoy the shit out of you with balance transfer and 0% financing offers that so many other credit card companies send you as well. Even though we all know you will not be taking us up on those offers, we will send them to you just in case (wink wink).

When you both left Pullman in the Summer of 2006, you pretty much just had clothes and a few odds and ends. You ventured off to the west side of the state to start a new adventure with new jobs and a new life and NO money. Just the two of you. Yes, you saved and spent what you could, but you used us to get the big necessities you needed to get you both comfy in your new place. And maybe you had some frivolous spending sprees… but hey, everyone likes to splurge once in a while. Since you moved that summer you have bought a condo, got married, went on a fabulous honeymoon, and made some other purchases for your home. Yes, Papa Muller fit the bill for most of the wedding, but we helped with some of the small things that helped make that time in your life fabulous. Needless to say all of those events added up and the balance frustrated the hell out of both of you.

Now you can use the extra money you have been using to pay us off each month to help pay off the car faster, buy the finishing touches for your condo, continue to build up your savings for the house you will be buy in a couple years, or maybe start a savings for the cars you both want but don’t need. Or you can use the money to create a savings for when you start having your future children, you could go on a fabulous trip, or just buy something to congratulate yourselves. OR you can do ALL of that. The sky is the limit. We all agreed that you deserve it. You both really buckled down and gave us a good swift kick in the ass.

You have now vowed not to use us anymore. Only for things you can pay off every month or for severe emergencies your savings can’t handle. Here is to you, Anna & Joey, for building a life in which you don’t need us anymore. Enjoy your life without us. You deserve it!!
